Purple Heart Recipient Frank C. Dotolo, 72, Was A Longtime Resident Of Irvington

Longtime Westchester resident Frank C. Dotolo died in Sebastian, FL on May 6. He was a resident of Vero Beach, FL at the time of his death. 

Frank C. Dotolo was a 1966 graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School.

Frank was born on July 26, 1948 to Frank and Marie Dotolo in Irvington. Frank attended Immaculate Conception School in Irvington and was a 1966 graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School. 

He attended Westchester Community College and received training as a commercial artist. His career was interrupted when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served a tour of duty in Vietnam as a gunner’s mate on a Swift Boat and was subsequently awarded a Purple Heart. 

Upon return to the States he resumed his career as a commercial artist. He moved to Austin, TX in the 1970s and was self-employed until his retirement in 2014. 

He retired to Florida and enjoyed one of his passions, fishing. His best buddy, his 16-year-old cat Willie predeceased him, but he is survived by his brother Stephen of Austin, TX and his long-time girlfriend Stella Rossnagly. 

He is interred along with his parents in the Bushnell National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. He will be missed by his many friends.
